In a July 8, 2020 op-ed in The Diplomat, Robert Kajiwara argues: “The cancellation of the controversial missile defense program is seen as discrimination by Okinawans, who have long fought base construction on similar grounds.”

Robert Kajiwara is a current student in the MA in Asian Studies, and concurrently a PhD candidate in History at Manchester Metropolitan University.
