Hydroponics is a important and useful method used to grow plants in Hawaiʻi. Because the islands are geographically isolated and limited in natural resources, residents are dependent on imported goods and thre are high costs associated with business. Hydroponic farming is, therefore, emerging as a sustainable and cost-effective way to grow food locally.
