Students who are seeking to fulfill community service hours for scholarship or personal purposes are welcome to join our programs as volunteer staff.
Our department has also provided supportive community service opportunities for students who wish to gain experience in student programming, outreach coordination, and university careers. We host an average of 2-3 outreach events per semester, and volunteers are greatly appreciated.
Volunteer work at NHSS can range from opportunities to mentor high school students on campus, aloha ‘āina outdoor work, public speaking practice on college panels, participation in skill building leadership sessions, program planning/support for community events.
Additionally, our volunteers also gain access to community service opportunities hosted outside of NHSS. Below are some opportunities available in the community throughout the semester should you be interested.
