The Faculty Retirees Association, University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, was established in 1986, for the purpose of fostering the intellectual and social interests of its members, and to provide service to the University. At the annual meeting on 9 May 2023, the By-Laws were amended to change the name to University of Hawaii Retirees Ohana to emphasize that faculty and staff retirees from all UH campuses may join.
- Membership is open to all retired members of the faculty and staff of the University of Hawaiʻi and their spouse or partner.
- The primary activity is a luncheon meeting once each month of the school year, mostly to hear an invited speaker, but with an occasional excursion. Because of the pandemic, meetings have been mostly on Zoom since Fall 2020. Many members prefer this with occasional in-person meetings.
- Membership is $10 per year, sent to the treasurer, Dr. Jacqueline Maly, 44-025 Kaimalu Place, Kaneohe HI 96744. Checks should be made out to UHRO.
