Hey Paul, I have not done this yet. I will follow your lead and pair my students up for everyone to see the demo several times. I think it will help them to grasp the concept (one that took me a bit to get at our first session in Lihue). Good idea!

I agree with Kathryn above with the idea of pairing up (or even in 3's). The hardest part about this demo/activity is each person's perspective. The person holding the ball and rotating has a different perspective on the "moon" as opposed to another viewing from the outside. With many teenagers' egocentric minds, it's often hard for them to view things from another angle.

I have not implemented this activity yet, but we have a project at the school regarding the phases of the moon and I intend to use this at that time. I am excited about this one. Mahalo for the tips!
