Goals:
To develop an understanding of the major tropical fruits crops, including recognizing the plants, flowers, fruits, stage when ripe, taste, history and production. Discuss sustainable production practices that protect the environment. Likely crops if available : Lychee, Rambutan Longan, Passionfruit, Breadfruit, Jackfruit, Guava, Strawberry guava, Starfruit, Banana, Pitaya, Dragon Fruit, Durian, Avocado, Mango, Orange, Lime, Tangerine, Pomelo, Papaya, Pineapple, Peach Palm, Macadamia
Skills and knowledge to be acquired:
Recognize major tropical fruit crops as whole plant, fruit, and taste. Know how to select a ripe fruit and how to eat it. Know origin and production areas in today's world of major tropical fruit crops. Know basic production practices of major tropical fruit crops that impact sustainability.
