We are delighted – and relieved – to inform you that CCS has finally hired Ms Adriana CHOI as our new Academic Support Staff (APT), she will start working on October 7, 2024.
Ms Choi comes to us from within the UHM system, i.e. from the Institute for Astronomy (IFA), UHM, where she was employed as an Academic Support Staff carrying out the typical types of job responsibilities ranging from organizing conferences, outreach events, travel arrangements, and providing administrative support for contract/grant writing and maintaining an electronic data-base and a web-based archival system for the IFA Director’s office.
Having earned a double-major (BA) degree from UHM’s Shidler’s College of Business focusing on Business Administration & Marketing and from EALL’s Chinese Language Flagship Program, Ms Choi spent a year studying abroad in Taiwan, first at the National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, Taipei, and then at the National Cheng Kung University, in Tainan. During her time in Taiwan, she also worked as an Academic Specialist at the Asian-American Institute of Education, Taipei. Subsequently, she also completed an Industry and Digi + Marketer internship at the Talent Circulation Alliance company in Taipei. Back in Hawaii, she was briefly employed as a student interchanger at the International Outreach College in Honolulu before she was hired by the IFA as an Academic Support Staff, where she has worked since.
Ms Choi’s office will be in M 417 (the inside office cubicle where Daniel Tschudi and Nathan YAN sat), and you can reach her via email at <uhccs@hawaii.edu> or her direct phone line: 956-8891. Feel free to stop by at the CCS office after October 7 to personally welcome her to the CCS-Ohana!
We are delighted that Ms Choi is joining the CCS team and are confident that her background in Chinese, her experience in Taiwan, and her thorough knowledge of the UHM system, especially her familiarity with all current administrative and fiscal logistics, will greatly add to a smoother functioning of our center and benefit our entire CCS-Ohana!
