UH Delegation in Beijing
[The University of Hawai’i at Mānoa closed its Confucius Institute effective May 31, 2019]
“Last week, President David Lassner led a UH delegation that included SPAS dean Andy Sutton, C-SS dean Denise Konan, Windward CC faculty Makanani Salā, West Oahu faculty Aaron Salā, 11 hula dancers, ethnomusicology professor Fred Lau, and myself, to Beijing, to attend the celebrations for the 120th anniversary of Peking University, with which UHM has a 30-year exchange relationship. While we were there, we also called on the Beijing Foreign Studies University (the partner university of UHM’s Confucius Institute) and on the Hanban (Confucius Institute Headquarters).”
