The Center for Chinese Studies hosted a table at the Discover Manoa event this past Saturday (10/26) where we interacted with students who are looking to pursue their studies in Chinese Studies/Asian Studies.
Courtesy of the previous Director, David Yang, we were able to display his books at the Center for Chinese Studies booth.
CCS’ very own Ph.D Student, Qi Zhang, impressed us with her professional Beijing Peking Opera experience through traditional peking opera props, makeup, and costumes.
Both kids and teens enjoyed their time getting the chance to experience face painting from the highly esteemed Beijing Opera Performer, Qi.
Members of the community also had the opportunity to dress up in traditional peking opera clothing and learn significant Peking Opera poses while in costume.
