Hung Family Fellowships and Scholarships

Hung Fellowships provide support for graduate students from China and Taiwan studying either Chinese intellectual history in the Department of History or Chinese Economic Policy in the Department of Economics at the University of Hawai‘i. Application essays with an accompanying cover letter should be submitted to the Graduate Chair of the relevant department. Click HERE to learn more.

Funding Support

  • A full tuition waiver provided by the University of Hawai’i
  • One stipend

Special Requirement

  • Applicants must be a resident of China or Taiwan and a graduate student in the UH Manoa Economics Department. 
  • Academic ability is the main criterion for the selection of fellows.

Application

Please email a 500-word essay on Chinese economic policy and a letter of recommendation from an economics faculty member in the relevant field. Please send application materials by e-mail to econgap@hawaii.edu with “Hung Family Fellowship” in the subject line.
