Funding Opportunities from UH Department of Asian Studies

The purpose of these funds is to assist undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in the Asian Studies concentration at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, School of Pacific and Asian Studies. A limited number of tuition waivers are also available within the Asian Studies Program. These are available on a semester basis and are determined by academic performance. Applications are distributed to students admitted or currently enrolled in the Master’s program in Asian Studies. Funding Support

  • The “James Shigeta Scholarship” covers a student’s tuition cost for one academic year.
  • Tuition Waivers (Graduate students only).

Special Requirements

  • Demonstrate exceptional promise and achievement
  • Be a domestic or International undergraduate or graduate student at UHM
  • Affiliated with Asian Studies

Application

Students interested in applying are encouraged to enter scholarship titles into the UH Mānoa STAR portal‘s scholarship search engine to submit their application.
