UH faculty, students from varying majors, were joined by students from the neighborhood preschool, and all had a blast experiencing Chinese culture in all shapes, forms, and flavors. Students sipped different varieties of tea at the tea sample table, built their own Chinese wishing lanterns at the paper cutting table, and tried their hands at writing Chinese characters at the calligraphy table.
Some of our own Chinese Flagship students also volunteered at few of the many booths. Jeno Calara and Lillian Richter worked the Chinese brushes at the face painting table, painting the seven colors of the rainbow in many festive designs. Paul Porter assisted at the crowd-favorite mahjong table, always boisterous in atmosphere. Kimberly Batson, a Student Ambassador, also lended a hand at both the mahjong and the Chinese measure words tables. And Molly Wolyn, also a Student Ambassador, was busy passing out samples of different Chinese foods to attendees.
