The Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation (OVPRI) works with the U.S Army Garrison - Hawai?i Natural Resources Program under a cooperative agreement to oversee compliance with the Federal Endangered Species Act on the island of O?ahu. The goal of the program is to effectively balance the requirements of the Army?s training mission with its natural resource responsibilities. The Army Natural Resources Program, O?ahu (ANRPO) provides on-the-ground management for over 100 endangered species on O?ahu, including plants, birds, tree snails and insects. With an ecosystem-based approach, ANRPO ensures to restore and protect these species and their habitat by growing both endangered and common native plant species and outplanting ~10,000 of them back into the wild each year. The Honolulu Police Department (HPD) was established in 1932 and is located on the island of Oahu at 801 South Beretania Street. The department’s jurisdiction encompasses the entire island of Oahu, which has a circumference of about 137 miles and an area of approximately 596 square miles.
