Campus Design Lab Projects

About

The Campus Design Lab works on a wide variety of projects for the campus. These projects tend to be smaller scale and focus on driving student engagement at UHM. Efforts are frequently conducted in collaboration with organizations like the UH Community Design Center and individual schools, colleges, offices,and departments. This page functions as an archive of CDL projects and contains information about project goals, outcomes, and team structure.

Created a proof-of-concept design to support the working models of present and future building inhabitants.

Renovated the common areas of the freshmen Hale Aloha Towers for a better living environment.

A new, bilingual signage and wayfinding system that consists of new building signs, embedded medallions, and ʻili markers.

Selected flexible, mobile, and durable furnishings for much of the Life Sciences building.

Developed a proof-of-concept planning and design study for a facility for military students and staff at UH Mānoa.

Conducted research into color theory and architectural influence to refresh the color palette utilized on Mānoa buildings.
