Our mainstage theatre has a 620-seat auditorium and a proscenium stage. It was built to accommodate traditional Japanese Theatre staging techniques (the implementation of a single or double hanamichi) in addition to the proscenium orientation. The building’s exquisite design, along with adjacent Jefferson Hall (East-West Center) are credited to the internationally known architect I.M. Pei. Kennedy Theatre is one of Honolulu’s Historical Buildings.
