Theda Skocpol

Theda Skocpol is the Victor S. Thomas Professor of Government and Sociology at Harvard University. Skocpol earned her Ph.D. from Harvard in 1975 and served as Dean of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (2005-2007) and Director of the Center for American Political Studies (2000-2006). She has served as Professor of Sociology (1986-1994), Professor of Government and Sociology (1995-1997), and Victor S. Thomas Professor of Government and Sociology (1998-present). In 2007, Skocpol was awarded the Johan Skytte Prize in Political Science.
