Taylor Mac is a playwright, performance artist, actor, director, producer, and singer-songwriter. A Guggenheim and MacArthur fellow, Mac’s work has been performed around the world, from Lincoln Center to the Sydney Opera House. One of Mac’s most ambitious productions—a 24-hour live performance on the history of American popular music—was recently released as a concert film for HBO.
