Sarah Kemble received her MD at UCSF, completed her residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at UCLA, and an infectious disease fellowship at Rush University Medical Center. She also is an alumna of the Epidemic Intelligence Service at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. After serving as Medical Director for the Communicable Disease Program at the Chicago Department of Public Health for four years, she returned to her home state of Hawaiʻi in March 2019 and joined the Hawaiʻi State Department of Health. Since September, 2020, she has served as the Acting State Epidemiologist and Chief of the Disease Outbreak Control Division.
