Writer and historian Rebecca Solnit is the author of more than 20 books on walking, western history, catastrophe, feminism, and hope. A Guggenheim fellow and winner of the National Book Critics Circle Award, Solnit is the author of Men Explain Things to Me and A Paradise Built in Hell: The Extraordinary Communities that Arise in Disaster. She writes regularly for Harper’s and The Guardian.
