Paul Farmer

Chair of the Department of Global Health and Social Medicine at Harvard Medical School, Paul Farmer was co-founder and chief strategist of the non-profit Partners In Health. His work focused on the consequences of social inequality and the delivery of high-quality health care in resource-poor settings. He was a member of the National Academy of Medicine and of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Dr. Farmer tragically passed away shortly after giving his talk. He had joined us on Zoom from PIH facilities in the Burera District of Rwanda.
