An expert in immigrant education, migration, and multilingualism, he is the author or editor of 26 books and volumes, including Learning in a New Land: Immigrant Students in American Society and Making Migration Work. Suárez-Orozco is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and has consulted for the Holy See, the President of Mexico, and the International Criminal Court on migration issues.
