Heather Thompson is Cedric J. Robinson Collegiate Professor of History and African American Studies, Professor of Afroamerican and African Studies, Professor in the Residential College, and Professor of History at the University of Michigan. She is also the best-selling author of Blood in the Water (2016), which won the Pulitzer Prize in History, the Bancroft Prize in American History and Diplomacy, The Ridenhour Book Prize, and the J. Willard Hurst Prize, and a book prize from the New York City Bar Association.
