Carissa Moore is a Native Hawaiian surfer, World Surfing Champion, and an Olympic gold medalist. Moore joined the WSL championship tour at age 17 years old, and she was the youngest surfer ever to win a world title the following year. She went on to win five world titles, solidifying her status as one of the top surfers in the world. Beyond her achievements in the water, Carissa is a passionate advocate for women’s surfing and a role model for young athletes. In 2018, she founded the non-profit organization Moore Aloha, which runs events designed to help girls and women navigate the waves of mental health and wellness through surfing, cultural activities, and mentorship. She is the author of Hawai‘i Gold: A Celebration of Surfing.
