“Talk story” session with Akiko Yamagawa Hibbett

Akiko Yamagawa Hibbett weaves reminiscences of her mother, Hana Yamagawa, and the social histories of Uchinaanchu (Okinawans) in her book.  Hana’s journeys beginning in 1912 from Okinawa to Peru, through Mexico, California, Colorado and back to Los Angeles provide insight into the lives of diasporic Uchinaanchu.

Author Akiko Yamagawa Hibbett will be here on Friday, April 1 to do a “talk story” session.  It will be held in Moore 319 (Tokioka Room), 3:00-4:30pm.  Please see attached flyer for details.
