November 30, 2023 Asia Law Talk: Legislative Impact Analysis on Electric Vehicle Subsidies in South Korea: The Korean Clean Air Act, by Dr. Eubong Lee, KLRI

The Center for Korean Studies and Pacific Asian Legal Studies program at the William S. Richardson School of Law co-host:

Asia Law Talk: “Legislative Impact Analysis on Electric Vehicle Subsidies in South Korea: The Korean Clean Air Act”

on November 30, 2023 at 12:00pm-1:00pm.

The event is held in the Moot Courtroom at the William S. Richardson School of Law, University of Hawaii at Manoa.

The speaker is Dr. Eubong Lee, Research Fellow, Korea Legislation and Research Institute (KLRI).

Dr. Lee evaluates the legitimacy and adequacy of electric vehicle subsidies under the Clean Air Act of Korea by analyzing the impact of operating low emission car subsidies programs based on the Nationally determined contributions(NDCs) and data related to vehicles registration, distance driven, drivers’ behaviors, subsidies and car purchase motivations and factors. Dr. Lee is visiting to research the legislative impact analysis systems in Hawaiʻi.

The Korea Legislation Research Institute (KLRI) is the only government-funded legislative think-tank in South Korea established in 1990 to support the Korean government in formulating national legislative policies and to contribute to creating a better legal culture in Korea.

Please RSVP by Nov. 29 at https://forms.gle/vCia2b8wwFYbP93c9, or by sending an email to Tae-Ung Baik at tubaik@hawaii.edu. Light lunch will be provided.

This Asia Law Talk is moderated by Professor Tae-Ung Baik, and co-sponsored by the Pacific Asian Legal Studies Program at the Law School and the Center for Korean Studies, UHM.
