Exploring Our Fluid Earth

I did this activity in my 8th grade Space Science class at Waianae Intermediate School and the results were quite satisfactory. My students walked away with a foundational understanding of the causation of the phases of the moon, which we were able to build on over the next few class meetings. I also left the class with a renewed trust in the process of student investigation as it seemed to do a much better instructional job than my presentation accomplished in previous years.
