I like this activity set and plan to use it twice in the year. Once at he beginning to set the tone in the class "Science Rules" and mid way through the year as way to refresh minds before the topic of Evolution.

Sounds exactly what I thought about this activity. My students enjoyed it a lot and I think they would have benefitted even more had we done this at the beginning of the year!

Thank you, I agree this is best taught earlier in the year. However, for our private school the timing for this activity was good for the middle-school because it was just before the HAIS Science Fair! So, we were able to review all the Scientific Language before their presentations or interviews with the Judges.

I agree that this lesson actually belongs in the beginning of the year and then periodically throughout the year for my students due to my somewhat transient student population.
