I'm curious how this turned out for you. My students did not enjoy this activity. I tried to get all philosophical with them but they were pretty frustrated with the whole process of thinking about thinking. Several actually said that it was not worth doing the TSI labs if they had to do anything like this again. I was hoping for some more heady intellectual metacognition stuff, but nope. Talk about lack of engagement. Ouch!

I thought this lesson went surprisingly well. I was really uncertain about how my students would respond to the content, new vocabulary, and making the metacognative connections. There weren't any deep conversations, but they took the task seriously and I was pleased with their participation in the process.

I witnessed Leigh pull this lesson off. It was incredible !

I wasn't expecting students to be engaged but they were.
