Great activities!!!

My students truly enjoyed getting their feet "wet" and doing this activities. Normally I would have my students write their predictions as their hypothesis statement, but I liked how the hypothesis was actually after the students conducted the experiment. I think this helped my students see that the scientific process is not linear as they have been taught.

Most of my students were amazed by the floating of the paper clip. Some of my students had already seen a video on YouTube on how to float a paper clip using another paper clip. In the activity procedure, it said for the students to ask others for help. All of a sudden there was a competition that started to see who could float a paper clip without using any other tool. Then it advanced to who could float the most paper clips without making any sink. :)

I knew that this lesson was a success when I overheard the students still talking about the activities the next day. :)
