Fish Printing for Form and Function

This activity is an excellent way to engage students in learning the form and function of the external anatomy fish. My students remained engaged throughout the activity. Our biggest challenge was time. A 70 minute class was too short for this activity.

Our class was fortunate enough to have enough fish for each student to be working on their own fish at one time. We had 6 rubber fish as well. In the past I have had some fish donated, and sometimes students catch and bring in their own. I run this activity a little different every year depending on how many fish we have. Stations or small groups would also work well.
