Aloha Kevin,
I enjoyed reading your lesson plan. I realized that I have similar "worries" as you - that some students will get it and others will be passive participants and/or copy other students. How big are your groupings? I tried to use groups of 2 because I have small classes, that way, both students in the group have to participate. Do you have any suggestions for managing group behavior? Did you create class norms for group work? I'm finding that my inquiry-based lessons run smoothly when I have simple steps printed out and on the table so students have a "checklist" to keep them on track. What do you think?
