Density Bag modification

I was VERY intimidated by the amount of setup required by the activity, so I tried thinking of how I could break the activity into chunks, and even into different stations. I also am implementing this activity with all of my classes, so I knew I would have to do much of the setup beforehand due to lack of bags for all classes.

To make the setup easier and less time consuming, I decided to structure the activity in a way that I would only have one group come to the lab station at a time to do the density bag predictions/tests. I gave the rest of the students a density workbook to do in their journals while they were waiting for their group to be called. I found a great resource online for the density workbook. Here is the link for the workbook: mrscienceut.net/DensityWorkbook.pdf. I'm only having my students do the first 5 pages of the workbook.

That is a really good idea. Thank you for sharing it. Now I know how I will do this activity next time...
