About Puʻu Pueo
Puʻu Pueo, or “Owl Hill” is a place in Mānoa Valley that is named after the ʻaumakua of Kahalaopuna.
In the moʻolelo, Kahalaopuna is killed multiple times by her jealous husband and each time, she is revived by her owl ancestor who is said to have lived on this hill.
