Help us find rooms for every class and make it easier for us to fulfill special requests by following these Good Practices!
Days and Times
Following the standard time blocks will make it easier for students to register for your classes because they will fit better into their overall schedules. The general use classroom assignment algorithm gives first priority to sections using the standard time blocks. Following time blocks will also improve your students’ final exam experience because their exam load will be spaced out.
Try to distribute your sections across the entire span of the instructional day. Students are better able to take courses when they are spread out over the day instead of offered at conflicting times. We see the most demand for classrooms between the peak hours of 9:30-1:30, and often run out of general use rooms. When this happens, we sometimes ask you to change the time of your course in order to find a room. Courses offered in the later afternoon or early morning before 9:30am have a better chance of receiving the most popular rooms, and students are better able to fit them into their schedules.
Requesting Media
As of 2019, most general use classrooms other than Keller Hall are equipped with computers and projectors. You can review the features and equipment in all general use classrooms on the Center for Instructional Support (CIS) website.
