Welcome to the Office of Student Academic Success (formerly known as the Office of Undergraduate Education)!
This is a time of great change and transition. We are collectively experiencing the effects of a global pandemic and climate change. In recent months, racial strife and political unrest have led to a public outcry for systemic change. On the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa campus, we are experiencing transition as we reawaken the campus. Face-to-face courses are once again being offered on campus, and faculty, staff, and students are returning to campus. Even our own office is undergoing a significant transition.
The Office of Undergraduate Education was created in 2006 to improve undergraduate students’ experience to a timely progression to a degree. On April 15, 2021, the University of Hawaiʻi Board of Regents approved Phase 2 of the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa reorganization. Thus, after 15 years as a unit within the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, we now reside within the Office of the Vice Provost Student Success. During
our transitionary period, you may notice that some of our materials still refer to us as the Office of Undergraduate Education.
As the Office of Student Academic Success, we continue to provide students the same level of outstanding service that we offered during the initial 15 years of our program. The Office of Student Academic Success supports the student experience and academic success of University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa students. Our suite of programs and services include:
- Mānoa Advisors
o Mānoa Advising Center
o Mānoa Transfer Coordination Center
o Pre-Health/Pre-Law Advising Center
o Student-Athlete Academic Services
- First Year Programs
- Learning Assistance Center
- Civic and Community Engagement
From tutoring services to civic and community engagement to academic advising, we are here to support your academic success.
On behalf of the entire Office of Student Academic Success ʻohana, we look forward to supporting you through your academic journey. We encourage you to take full advantage of every opportunity available to you.
Welcome to your new home and ʻohana at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa!
