Commander Sean Davis, USN

Associate Professor of Naval Science and Executive Officer

Commander Davis enlisted in the Navy in 1999 as an Electrician’s Mate (Nuclear) before receiving a scholarship through the Naval Reserve Officers
Training Corps program. He attended the University of California at Los Angeles, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He also has earned a Master of Science in Management from the University of North Florida.

At sea, he served as Supply Officer and Assistant Chief Engineer for MHC Crew Loyalty, Operations Officer and Executive Officer for MHC Crew Excel, Training Officer aboard USS Stephen W Groves, Operations Officer aboard
USS Hopper (DDG 70), and Combat Systems Officer aboard USS O’Kane (DDG 77). Additionally, he served as the Executive Officer aboard USS Milwaukee (LCS 5), where he completed two deployments to U.S. Southern Command and earned the Battle Efficiency Award.

Ashore, he served as the American Liaison Officer to the United Kingdom’s Britannia Royal Naval College as part of the Personnel Exchange Program. He also served as the Fleet Scheduler and lead planner in the Future Operations directorate at U.S. Pacific Fleet, and as the Material Readiness Officer at Mine Division Two Two. Most recently, he served as the Chief Staff Officer of Littoral Combat Ship Squadron Two in Mayport, Florida, overseeing a staff of over
800 personnel providing support to ten warships.

His awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (3 awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2 awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
