The Fall 2026 Peer Mentor Application is Open!

The peer mentorship program works gives students the opportunity to fine-tune leadership skills that will allow them to succeed in their endeavors beyond college. Peer mentors will be assigned to groups of first-year students in UNIV 110 and act as a guide to help them acclimate to college life. Mentors should be dedicated to ensuring the well-being of their underclassmen peers and possess a firm grasp on what it takes to successfully acclimate to UHM.

Mentors facilitate two separate UNIV 110 courses composed of no more than 20 students. Mentors will also attend their own course, UNIV 301, which is 4 credits and suffices the WI and O focus requirements.What do mentors do outside the classroom?Expand

Mentors are required to coordinate at least two out of class activities that promote engagement with the UH Mānoa campus and rapport building within the community. Each mentor will have individual meetings with each student in their cluster at least three times throughout the semester as a friendly check-in and rapport building session. Mentors are also expected to work in the office to help with the First Year Programs.How do I apply?Expand

Position Requirements

  • 30+ credits by Fall 2025
  • Good academic standing (2.5+ GPA)
  • Intent on using own skill-set to assist others
