United Through Service Day
September 10 from 9 AM - 12:30 PM
The Office of Civic and Community Engagement and the YMCA of Honolulu will be sponsoring a service project on the North Shore of Oahu on Saturday September 10, 2022 from 9:00 AM -12:30 PM at Waimea Valley. A bus will leave from Varney Circle in front of Queen Liliuokalani Center for Student Services (QLC) at 7:45 a.m. After the service is complete, we will make a stop at Haleiwa town for lunch on your own and then return to campus by 3:30 p.m.

Volunteer at Ho'okua'aina
May 26 at 9-12 p.m.
Volunteer at Ho'okuaiaina and join us in the lo'i! For this work day we will be working in the kalo lo'i (taro patch). The loʻi is located in the headwaters of Kawainui Marsh and is a natural wetland with all kinds of wildlife. Be prepared for sun, rain, connections, and learning through hands on work.

The Hunting Ground Film Screening

In collaboration with AAUW, we are excited to present to you a special film screening of The Hunting Ground!
The Hunting Ground is an exposé of rape crimes on U.S. college campuses, their institutional cover-ups and the devastating toll they take on students and their families. Annie E. Clark is a co-founder of End Rape on Campus and a lead complainant in the Title IX and Clery complaints against the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After directly working with New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, she helped write the Bi-Partisan Campus Safety and Accountability Act.

Developing Financial and Business Literacy
Saturdays, February 19 - March 26, 2022 from 9 - 11 AM via Zoom
Law School is offering Business Boot Camp II for the next six Saturdays from 9-11AM. They include this Saturday’s session which is free to everyone. The topics are: “Developing Financial and Business Literacy & An Overview of the Richardson School of Law Business Law Curriculum.”
Future topics (for a $25.00 fee though) include Financial Management – Managing Credit Card Debt & How to Read Financial Statements (2/26), Bankruptcy Law (3/5), and Real Estate Finance & Basic Taxation Association Concepts (3/12).

Being a Native Hawaiian in Peace Corps

Join us for a talk story session with RPCV Kamaka Dias, where he shares his perspectives on being a Native-Hawaiian living abroad and working for the American Government. Find out what it's like to be a Peace Corps Volunteer from Hawai'i trying to navigate between promoting Hawaiian culture and American culture, while also figuring out the difference between both.

The second part in our "Where Do We Live?" series will engage parents and caregivers in a tangible experience of ʻāina as a community. ʻĀina’s influence cannot remain in the realm of theory, but must also be experienced through the senses. Join AAUW at UH Mānoa, the OCCE, and Student Parents at Mānoa to explore ʻāina together in Mānoa Valley! The whole ʻohana is welcome and lunch bentos will be provided.
