LTC JERROD MELANDER
PROFESSOR OF MILITARY SCIENCE,
PROFESSOR OF MILITARY SCIENCE, LTC Jerrod Melander commissioned in 1999 as an Engineer Officer. His operational assignments include serving in the 3rd Infantry Division, 20th Engineer Brigade, 402nd Army Field Support Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division, and Eighth Army. He served in strategic assignments at the 444th Engineer Facility Detachment, Memphis District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Office of the Program Manager – Saudi Arabian National Guard, and U. S. Army Pacific. He has served as: Mechanized Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer, Battalion Supply & Logistics Officer, Brigade Construction Officer, Multinational Corps Reconstruction Operations Officer, Battalion Executive Officer, Brigade Engineer & Planner, District Operations Officer, and Facilities & Construction Chief. He is married and has four children.
MSG TROY SHERLOCK
SENIOR MILITARY INSTRUCTOR, MSG Troy Sherlock hails from Parkesburg, Pennsylvania. Previous assignments include 3rd Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment, Regimental Support Company 75th IN REG, Task Force One Operations Group at JRTC, 25IN Security Force Advise and Assist Team, 4th Battalion 6th IN REG 1ST ID, and 198TH IN BDE. He is a Ranger School graduate, Mountain warfare school graduate, and has earned the Bronze Star Combat Parachutist Badge, Combat Infantryman Badge, and Expert Infantryman Badge. He has deployed multiple times to support the GWOT in Oman, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iraq.


MAJ MICHAEL ENGLUND
BATTALION EXECUTIVE OFFICER, MAJ Michael Englund is a Field Artillery officer with 19 years of service. He initially earned his commission as an Infantry officer from New Mexico Military Institute in 2001 and went on to earn a bachelor’s in education from Bethel College, IN and a master’s in leadership from Central Michigan University. He has deployed twice in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Most recent assignments include Technical Assistance Fielding Team OIC in United Arab Emirates, BN XO 196th IN, 25th ID IG, and BN XO 3-7 FA. MAJ Englund arrived at UH ROTC in the Spring Semester of the year 2020.

MAJ KYLE MIYAHANA

SGT Dwasha Aikens
S-3 PRIMARY, MAJ Kyle Miyahana is currently serving as the Assistant Professor of Military Science at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. His past duty assignments include Engineer Platoon Leader, Engineer Company Executive Officer, Engineer Company Commander, OCS TAC Officer, Battle Captain, Brigade Assistant Operations Officer, Brigade Plans Chief, and Brigade Engineer in the NG.
HUMAN RESOURCE ASSISTANT, SGT Dwasha Aikens is an Active Duty 42A, Human Resource Specialist. She joined the Army on June 9th 2015 and was last stationed in Ft. Lee, Virginia. She was assigned to the University of Hawai'i ROTC in 2021. While working here at the Warrior Battalion, she is also pursuing a BA in Human Resource Management.

CPT MITCHAEL LANZÓ
S-3 ASSISTANT, CPT Mitchael Lanzó was born in Rio Pidras, Puerto Rico and commissioned into the United States Army Engineer Corps in 2011 from the University of Puerto Rico – Rio Piedras Campus ROTC Program. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management. His military education includes Engineer Basic Course, Maneuver Captain Career Course among others. He is currently serving as a MS II instructor and Battalion Assistant Operation Officer.
SFC ROSS HENDRIX
S-3 NCOIC, SFC Ross Hendrix entered Active Service 09FEB09 as a 13B, Cannon Crew Member Field Artillery. He has been stationed at 5 different duty locations and is currently an MSII Instructor and S3 NCOIC. SFC Hendrix has deployed twice to Afghanistan in support of both Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Resolute Support. He is married and has 2 boys ages 12 and 4.

CPT PAUL CAPSTICK
S-4 PRIMARY, CPT Paul Capstick is a Logistics Officer who earned a commission through ROTC at the University of New Hampshire in 2012. He is assigned to the program as an Assistant Professor of Military Science and the program’s S4 (Logistics Officer). CPT Capstick instructs the MS III class. He has previously served in the 25th Infantry Division and 82nd Airborne Division with one combat deployment to Afghanistan.
RECRUITING OPERATIONS OFFICERS

MR. (SFC(R)) JAIME OLIVEROS
ROO PRIMARY & UNIT SUPPLY SPECIALIST, Jaime Oliveros is a retired Infantry Sergeant First Class with more than 20 years experience. He has proven himself willing and ready to support the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa Army ROTC program as he mentors cadets in addition to his regular duties. His focus is to aid the cadets into the Warrior Battalion with information about scholarships and other opportunities. Takes control of all Junior Reserves Officer Training Corps. recruiting events and alike.
MR. (SSG) JASON COOPER
MR. JASON COOPER is the Recruiting Operations Officers Assistant. He assists in recruiting cadets who aspire to be officers in the US Army Active Duty Component, Reserves, and National Guard. MR. Cooper implores all incoming and current cadets to explore the opportunities offered by ROTC for scholarships and tuition assistance.

MR. (MSG(R)) DAVID SULLIVAN
S-1 FOR CADETS, David Sullivan is a retired Army MSG, born and raised in Chicago and suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, he now serves as the UH Army ROTC HR tech. Dave prepares commission documents for all officers graduating from this program. He served as HR for almost 23 years at Fort Jackson SC, Fort Meade, MD, Korea, Fort Hood, TX, recruiting duty in Green Bay and Rhinelander, WI, Germany, Desert Storm, and Hawaiʻi.
