The early chronology and challenges of one local clinical laboratory will be discussed. The challenges of COVID have been unlike any other and it is fascinating to look back on where we were, where we are today and the continuing challenges we face in the clinical laboratory. One aspect of the challenges is the various tests available for COVID and some data will be discussed comparing 2 specific NAAT and Ag assays touching on the research aspect of our experiences. While much of the research component touches on the real life, natural experiments aspect, a glimpse of the various impacts on research as experienced by the presenter will be also discussed.
