Biographical Narrative
Danielle R. Phillips, PhD, LSW is an assistant professor at the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa Thompson School of Social Work & Public Health. Her research focuses on improving health outcomes and access to healthcare using strengths-based approaches. She examines healthcare experiences related to overall well-being, mental health, and reproductive health, with particular attention to youth and young adults. Danielle earned her Ph.D. in Social Work from the University of Maryland School of Social Work, an MSW from the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa, and a BS from the University of Georgia. She has previously worked as a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) in Hawai'i, and as the Director of Social Services at Hale Makua Health Services in Kahului and Wailuku. Additionally, she served as a Substance Abuse Counselor at Malama I Ke Ola Health Center, a federally qualified health center on Maui.
