Campus Center PEACE Room Guidelines

The PEACE (Place for Encouraging Awareness, Calmness, and Enlightenment) Room is designed as a shared resource for individual use, promoting spiritual and emotional well-being on campus. Please adhere to the following rules to help ensure the PEACE Room  is a respectful and welcoming environment for all:

General Use

1. All users must be current UH Mānoa students, faculty, or staff members.
2. The space is not reservable and shall not be used for sleeping, studying, or meetings/gatherings.
3. An access keycard for authorized users can be provided at the Meeting & Events Office in Campus Center Room 209 during regular business hours.

Behavior & Etiquette

1. All users must respect the diverse practices and traditions that may be represented in this space.
2. No food and beverages are allowed.
3. All users must maintain a quiet atmosphere. Cell phones, laptops, and other electronic devices should be silenced upon entry, and phone calls must be taken outside the room.
4. Removing shoes is optional but recommended to help preserve the space and keep it clean.
5. Return any items you use such as meditation cushions, mats, and chairs to their original location.

Materials & Space Management

1. No personal items should be left in the space. Any items left behind will be removed.
2. You are responsible for the safekeeping of your belongings while using the room.
3. The space should not be used for displaying or distributing flyers, posters, or other promotional materials.
4. Cleaning/sanitizing wipes are available to wipe down mats/chairs before and after usage.
5. Candles, incense, diffusers, or any flammable items are strictly prohibited.

Safety & Reporting

1. For immediate safety concerns contact the Department of Public Safety at (808) 956-6911 or call 911.
2. To report any issues or misuse of the space during regular business hours contact our Meeting & Events Services office at ccmes@hawaii.edu or (808) 956-2525 or (808) 277-6371 for assistance after hours.
