Eligibility
Students in grades 11–14 (juniors and seniors in high school, and freshmen and sophomores in college) who are currently enrolled in a Chinese language course at their home institutions, with an intention to continue studying Chinese throughout the duration of the program.

Application form will open on October 15 at 08:00 a.m. HST and will close promptly on November 15 at 11:59 p.m. HST
Ready to Apply?
You will be asked to submit a brief personal statement/cover letter on why you would like to participate in this program. We are also asking for two (2) recommendation letters — on legal and official letterhead with signatures — from your supervisor, teacher, or school officials (they do not have to be your Chinese instructor!). Please have your recommenders email the letter directly to jialin@hawaii.edu with subject line: 2021-23 STARTALK App Rec Letter for [your full name]. Note: your application will not be considered complete until we receive both recommendation letters.
In the form, you will also have the optional opportunity to upload any supplementary documents that you think that may help your application (test scores, transcripts, program certificate, etc.).
