Sumner La Croix
Sumner La Croix is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Economics at UH Mānoa and is a research fellow with the UH Economic Research Organization. He has held visiting positions at University of New South Wales, Columbia University, University of California-Berkeley, Johns Hopkins University-Bologna, and the London School of Economics and Political Science. His articles have appeared in leading economics and policy journals including Research Policy, Journal of Economic History, and the Economic History Review. His most recent book, Hawaiʻi: Eight Hundred Years of Political and Economic Change, was published by he University of Chicago Press in March 2019. He received the 2016 Clio Can Award from the Cliometric Society for exceptional service to the field of cliometrics, the application of economic theory and econometrics to the study of history.
