Brian Emanuel Schatz has been the senior United States Senator from Hawaiʻi since 2012. He served in the Hawaiʻi House of Representatives from 1998 to 2006, representing the 25th legislative district, and he was chairman of the Democratic Party of Hawaiʻi from 2008 to 2010. He also worked as CEO of Helping Hands Hawaiʻi, an Oahu nonprofit social service agency. He is an alumnus of Punahou School and Pomona College.
