Two Personalities from Hawaiʻi Honored

Positively Filipino recently honored two manong and manang (Filipino for big brother and big sister) from Hawaii, Dr. Belinda A. Aquino, and former Hawaiʻi Governor Ben Cayetano in a ceremony called “Building Communities.” Dr. Aquino is the former founding director of the Center for Philippine Studies, while Ben Cayetano is a former governor of the State of Hawaii.

On August 31, 2024, they were awarded the distinct honor as among the twelve Filipinos in the USA who have paved the way for Filipinos in the USA to have a better life in this country.
