The Belinda Aquino Philippine Studies Collection is housed at eVols of the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa’s Hamilton Library. It supports the Center for Philippine Studies mission to collect and preserve materials about the Philippines and Filipinos in the social sciences and humanities, regardless of place of publication. While the majority of materials are in English, the collection also includes Filipino, Ilokano, and Spanish works when relevant.
The collection was established to honor Dr. Belinda A. Aquino, a political science professor, civil rights activist, and the First Director of the Center for Philippine Studies (1975–2019). It serves as a research and teaching resource for scholars, students, and the public, reflecting Aquino’s lifelong work in Philippine politics, culture, and human rights.
The digital archive includes several sub-communities and collections, such as:
- Belinda Aquino Digital Archives – personal and professional writings, speeches, and reflections.
- Filipino Curriculum Project – educational initiatives linking Philippine studies to K–12 teaching in Hawaiʻi
- Jose Sabas Libornio – Filipino musician who served as the bandmaster of the Royal Hawaiian Band
- Malaya Cordillera Collection – materials on the Cordillera region of the Philippines.
- Papers of the Underground Movement During the Marcos Regime – historical documents from the Philippine Radical Papers.
- Communist Party of the Philippines in Mindanao – political and historical materials.
- Philippine Revolutionary Papers, 1898–1900 – primary sources from the Philippine Revolution.
