Hawai‘i based performing artist Annie Lokamai‘ka‘i Lipscomb joins Marques Hanalei Marzan, Hawaiian cultural knowledge bearer and visual artist, in a presentation that provides a performative opening to the Festival Conference. Drawing on experiences with such traditional practices as hula, chant, fiber weaving, and sustainable gathering practices, they honor a kind of generational welcome that is imbued with Hawaiian values.
