EMERGENCY OUTAGE


SUBJECT:
Miller Hall Closed Until Further Notice. No Access to the Building

DESCRIPTION:

Update (9/23/21)

Repairs are complete and Miller Hall is now open for normal use.

All building systems are back on line, including power and A/C.  But, please report problems to Work Coordination (contact info included below).

Thank you for your patience during the outage.

 

 

Update (9/22/21)

Parts did not arrive today as planned.  The continued uncertainty with the delivery makes any estimate doubtful.

However at this point, our best projection is a reopening on Monday. We apologize for the delay.  

 

Update (9/21/21)

The earliest Miller Hall will be open and powered up is Friday.  Parts are expected to arrive on island tomorrow afternoon.

Contractor is scheduled to do work as soon as it arrives, but work is expected to continue through Thursday.

Next update is planned for Wednesday afternoon.    

 

Update (9/20/21):

Miller Hall closure will extend at least to 9/23, Thursday, and possibly until next week.

Electrical repairs are continuing; replacement parts are being sourced off island. The next update is planned for Tues afternoon.      

 

Update (9/19):

Miller Hall will be shut down until at least 9/22 Wednesday morning, possibly longer. Electrical repairs in process but may be completed on Tuesday at the earliest.

The Scheduling office is working to relocate Miller Hall in-person classes. We hope to provide the next update Monday afternoon.          

 

Initial Notice (9/18):

Miller Hall will be closed Sunday (9/19) and possibly Monday (9/20) due to electrical issues.

We will provide updates as they become available. Sorry for the inconvenience.

All persons in the vicinity of this outage are advised to respect all barricades and all posted safety/detour signs. Your patience, cooperation and understanding are requested as the inconveniences inherent to repair work (noise, dust, odors and debris) are generated by this outage.
