Day 4 Manaʻo for Cohort Kaulua Thursday, July 24, 2025

On this day together, we were honored to hear virtually from Candace Fujikane, author of Mapping Abundance for Planetary Futures and listen to her stories of abundance as a (re)framing for our conversations today. We were also fortunate to have the space to ask questions, and the Q&A portion was fruitful in terms of conceptualizing examples of critiquing capitalism and reframing abundance. One of my favorite quotes is when Kumu Candace suggests that settler colonialism and climate change encourage us “to imagine a different way of living and different arrangements of life. It’s all about an insistence on life.”
